Armour Valve recently hosted a User Group Training Session for district energy (DE) professionals at its head office in Toronto. The session included a diverse mix of participants coming together to learn about problem-solving solutions that optimize District Energy system performance.
Armour Valve first launched its DE User Group Training Sessions in Vancouver in 2018 in order to share best practices and best-in-class solutions with local contractors, engineers, and end users. A session typically includes a technical workshop with a focus on products, applications, and system performance. Participants can engage in Q&A directly with manufacturers who bring decades of experience helping clients achieve higher system efficiency and learn about proper installation through hands-on demonstrations.
DE Piping & Valve Solutions
Our DE solutions include Boehmer fully welded Ball valves, BRUGG flexible and pre-insulated rigid piping, and Flow Control Industries pressure independent control valves.
Boehmer
Since 1956, Boehmer has been manufacturing ball valves for hot and chilled water service in the DE market. Boehmer manufactures fully welded, forged steel isolation ball valves, ideal for buried service applications. Design features, including a trunnion-mounted ball and double sealing system, provide long-lasting service and reliability. Boehmer ball valves are the valve of choice for many of our utility customers.
BRUGG Pipe Systems
BRUGG manufactures pre-insulated EN253 rigid and flexible pipes for hot and chilled water district energy systems. A full-service manufacturer, BRUGG offers FLEXWELLᵀᴹ: the only flexible pipe for horizontal directional drilling applications. CALPEX pre-insulated PEX pipe delivers the lowest heat loss values on the market, providing reduced costs and increased energy efficiency. CASAFLEX allows for faster and lower-cost installation as compared to rigid pipe, thanks to BRUGG’s simple connection technology with no welding, the elimination of expansion loops, and a simple laying process. Designed to get around obstacles and use narrow trenching, CASAFLEX is ideal for branch line connections. COOFLEX and EIGERFLEX are solutions for chilled water service. Further information on all products is available on our website.
Flow Control Industries
Flow Control Industries (FCI) is a manufacturer of pressure-independent control valves that improve energy efficiency and lower the total cost of ownership. The pressure-independent DeltaPValve® has proven to reduce energy consumption in heating and cooling systems by 20-40% by improving system stability. A system optimization consultation is available upon request from Armour Valve.
