How Armour Valve’s Sustainable Procurement Decisions Are Making a Difference

Blog

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword at Armour Valve; it’s a commitment we’re embedding into every corner of our operations. From the products we supply, to the partners we choose; we’re always looking for ways to align our business practices with our purpose: Transforming infrastructure for a healthy, thriving planet. That’s why we’re excited to share a recent step forward—one that blends our values with style, and comfort. We’ve recently outfitted our team with sustainable Cutter & Buck dress shirts through our partner, McCabe Promotional Products, a B Corp Certified business that focuses on using their company as a force for good.

Partnering with McCabe Promotional Products felt like a natural fit. They guided us toward gear that looks professional, feels great, and reflects our values. They recognize that corporate gear can be stylish and functional without compromising the planet.

Eco Looks Good on Us: A Shirt with a Story

Each shirt tells a story—not just of quality and design, but of waste turned into something wearable. Every male Cutter & Buck shirt is made using the equivalent of 17 recycled plastic bottles, while each female shirt is made from 13 recycled bottles. Our recent order showcased below demonstrates the tangible impact of opting for sustainable options.

That’s 432 plastic bottles diverted from landfills and waterways—given a second life and something our team will wear proudly. But it doesn’t stop there.

These shirts are made from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which requires 30% less energy to manufacture compared to virgin polyester production, which relies heavily on oil-based materials. That means fewer greenhouse gas emissions and a lighter carbon footprint for every shirt we wear. This translates to approximately 70 megajoules of energy savings per shirt—a significant reduction that compounds across the thousands of units produced annually. It’s a small change, but it’s one that adds up—especially when you multiply it across businesses making more conscious promotional product choices.

The Bigger Picture: Sustainable Choices Add Up

With the integration of sustainable thinking into every part of our business, we have been re-thinking traditional approaches, asking better questions about the products we use, and seeking partnerships that reflect our values.

This new purchase complements several of our ongoing sustainability goals:

Embedding Purpose Across the Business: From procurement to product selection, we’re integrating environmental and social considerations into how we operate.

Partnering with Purpose-Driven Suppliers: Like McCabe Promotional Products, many of our suppliers share our commitment to creating long-term value while minimizing environmental impact.

Reducing Our Operational Footprint: Whether it’s reducing packaging waste, selecting more efficient equipment, moving to a new office space, or making greener choices with our promotional products, every action contributes to a more sustainable future.

For our employees, it’s a way to represent our brand out in the field or at industry events—while wearing something that truly reflects our values. This is just one of many steps we’re taking to become a more sustainable company. From introducing low-emission technologies to adopting circular product strategies, our sustainability journey is ongoing—and evolving.

Sustainability Isn’t the End—It’s the Thread

In today’s world, businesses aren’t just encouraged to make better choices—they’re expected to. At Armour Valve, we’re proud to meet that challenge head-on, embedding sustainability not just into what we offer, but into how we operate—right down to the promotional gear we choose.

It’s more than a checkbox. It’s a mindset. And while a shirt or a branded item might seem small, it’s part of a larger movement: one where intentional decision drive real impact. Because when sustainability becomes second nature across the business, it helps shape a future we can feel good about.
